Park’s season came to a close last Wednesday in a 7-4 loss to Apple Valley in the first round of the Section 3AA tournament in Apple Valley.
The seventh-seeded Wolfpack got off to a promising start with a fantastic finish to the first period. Anna Keys scored with 57 seconds left in the period and Mary Turitto scored with 38 seconds left to put Park (8-17-1) up 2-1.
The Eagles (16-11) took control in the second period with four goals to go up 5-2 and carried that momentum the rest of the way.
The Wolfpack rallied behind Keys and Turitto, who both scored again in the third period to draw the game to 5-4, but Apple Valley tacked on two more goals to move on in the playoffs. The Eagles went on to lose 3-1 to Eastview.
Keys scored 1:40 into the third period with a power-play goal and Turitto added her second at 7:48 to make it 5-4.
Apple Valley’s Erica Power pushed the lead to 6-4 at 12:10 and Meg Thelen iced the game with a goal at 12:56.
Turitto and Keys both finished with three points while Alicia Wagenman, Monica Martineau and Ashley Wagenman each had assists.
Caitlin Tate finished with 18 saves in goal for the Wolfpack.
