The Park boys swimming and diving team had a productive week in and out of the pool recently.
Park took on Suburban East Conference foe Mounds View on Thursday and was edged 59-42 by the Mustangs, then visited Stone Soup in St. Paul Park on Saturday to help stock shelves and organize the store as a community service project.
In the meet against Mounds View, the Mustangs didn’t clinch the win until just before the last event.
Park senior Michelle Pau earned first place in two events. Pau won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2 minutes, 15.58 seconds and won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.16.
However, Pau wasn’t the only Park swimmer to take the No. 1 spot. Sophomore Adam Raymond touched the wall first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.09. Also, sophomore Jarrett Mansergh took third place in the event with a time of 1:05.79.
In diving, Park sophomore Nicholas Germscheid earned first place in the event with a score of 180.60. Also, junior Kevin Roettger took third in the diving competition with a 144.35 score.
In other swimming events, Park senior Matt Henry earned second place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:19.08.
Next, Park hosts White Bear Lake for the regular-season finale on Thursday, Feb. 7, at Cottage Grove Middle School. The meet is set to start at 6 p.m.
