South Washington County Schools superintendent wants policy for delayed starts
No district policy on how to open schools lateBy: Judy Spooner, South Washington County Bulletin
During last week’s cold-weather snap, South Washington County Schools Superintendent Keith Jacobus said one of the choices he had was to open schools two hours late, after the temperature had risen somewhat.
But, Jacobus told the School Board Jan. 24, there is no district policy on how to accomplish that.
The process is complicated to coordinate bus routes and school start times, he said. A proposed policy would be brought to the School Board, he said.
South Washington County Schools remained open last week. Some districts outside the Twin Cities closed due to the cold weather.
