Cottage Grove police reports for Jan. 31: Assault, theft

Recently reported criminal activity in Cottage Grove.

Theft

Cub Foods, 8690 East Point Douglas Road, reported Jan. 13 that two males ran from the store after stealing steaks. They were not located.

An adult woman reported Jan. 18 that someone stole $170 and medication from a home in the 8500 block of Imperial Avenue where she was staying.

Holiday gas station, 8101 Hadley Ave., reported a $50 gas drive-off on Jan. 18. Police later located the suspect. Chee Thao, 36, of St. Paul, was arrested and booked into Washington County jail on suspicion of theft, driving after revocation, no insurance and failure to transfer a motor vehicle title.

A woman reported Jan. 19 that a window was broken on her vehicle parked at 7282 East Point Douglas Road and a set of audio CDs about financial security was stolen from the vehicle. Damage estimated at $250. The CDs were valued at $30.

A Cottage Grove juvenile male reported Jan. 21 that an iPod was stolen from a locker room at Cottage Grove Middle School, 9775 Indian Blvd.

Assault

A 17-year-old Cottage Grove male was issued a juvenile ticket for fifth-degree domestic assault after police said he pushed, punched and kicked his 14-year-old sister in a dispute at a home in the 8200 block of Grange Boulevard.
