Cottage Grove police reports for Jan. 29: Property damage and theft
A summary of recently reported criminal activity in Cottage Grove.
Property damage
An 18-year-old St. Paul Park man was cited for property damage after someone reported Jan. 6 that four tires were flattened on a vehicle parked in the 8500 block of Greystone Avenue.
A Cottage Grove man reported Jan. 11 that someone broke a window on a vehicle parked in the 7700 block of Hinton Avenue. Damage estimated at $500.
A Cottage Grove man reported Jan. 15 that a window was broken on a vehicle parked at Kohls, 7990 Hardwood Avenue. Damage estimated at $200.
Theft
A Cottage Grove woman reported Jan. 4 that two prescription drugs were stolen from her home in the 7000 block of Homestead Avenue.
A 25-year-old Hastings man was cited for shoplifting and driving after suspension after police say he stole a spray gun from Menards, 9000 East Point Douglas Road, on Jan. 5.
A woman from Lexington, Ky., reported to police Jan. 7 that her right contact lens, two rolls of tape and some paperwork were stolen from her room at Country Inn and Suites in Cottage Grove.
A 20-year-old Hastings man was cited for shoplifting Jan. 8 after police say he stole merchandise from Menards, 9000 East Point Douglas Road.
A Cottage Grove woman reported Jan. 9 that someone stole prescription medication from her home in the 8500 block of Hillside Trail. No suspects.
A 23-year-old St. Paul Park man was cited for shoplifting Jan. 9 after police say he stole $57 worth of merchandise from Cub Foods, 8690 East Point Douglas Road.Police were called to Cub Foods, 8690 East Point Douglas Road, on Jan. 11 for a shoplifting complaint. A 23-year-old Newport woman was cited for shoplifting. Cub reported a separate shoplifting incident later that day. A 29-year-old White Bear Lake woman was ticketed for shoplifting in that case.
A Cottage Grove male reported Jan. 11 that a cellphone was stolen at Park High School. Value: $80.
Holiday gas station, 8101 Hadley Ave., reported a $20 gas drive-off Jan. 14.
A St. Paul?Park woman reported Jan. 15 that a window was broken on a vehicle parked at Cottage Grove Florist, 6990 80th St., and a school bag was stolen from inside the vehicle. Window damage was estimated at $150.
Police received a report Jan. 16 that a pair of Ugg boots was stolen at Dance by Kris, 6990 80th St. The boots were valued at $170.
Menards, 9000 East Point Douglas Road, reported Jan. 16 that an unknown male stole $3.50 worth of sandpaper. The man refused to stop for store security and fled the scene.
