City of Cottage Grove hires communications coordinator

The city of Cottage Grove has a new communications coordinator.
Sharon Madsen will oversee efforts to provide information on city news and events through the city website and publications, local media and social media such as Facebook and Twitter. She’ll also work on city event planning and develop a strategic communications plan for the city.
Prior to joining the city, Madsen worked for Dakota County for 12 years, the last six as a communications specialist. She grew up in Cottage Grove and graduated from Park High School.
