St. Paul Park woman faces felony for punching EMT

A St. Paul Park woman was charged with a felony for allegedly hitting an EMT during an ambulance run.

Toni L. Pulver, 46, faces a charge of fourth-degree assault on an emergency medical worker in Washington County District Court. Her next court appearance is set for Jan. 17.

According to the criminal complaint:

Cottage Grove EMTs were dispatched to a home in the 600 block of Pleasant Avenue for a woman who was intoxicated and may have fallen and hit her head. The woman, identified as Pulver, agreed to be transported by ambulance to Regions Hospital. During the ambulance ride to St. Paul, Pulver became agitated and started making vulgar comments to the EMTs and waving her arms.

As a female EMT attempted to retrain Pulver with soft restraints, the woman clenched her right fist and punched the EMT in the face, causing bruising.

The fourth-degree assault charge calls for a maximum penalty of two years in prison and a $4,000 fine.
