Man charged for threatening to shoot former coworkers in St. Paul Park

A man who allegedly threatened to return to his former workplace in St. Paul Park and shoot two people faces a felony threats charge.

Dushawn Heinken, 47, of Brooklyn Center, Minn., is charged with terroristic threats in connection with alleged statements he made after leaving employment at Able Cold Storage and Able Trucking.

According to the criminal complaint:

Heinken was allowed use of a truck from his former employer so he could move to Georgia in October 2011.

When he did not return the truck, authorities located Heinken in Kentucky and impounded the truck. Heinken then allegedly called a former Able Cold Storage coworker and left a profanity-laced voicemail in which he told the coworker to get a new job because he was returning to Minnesota and planned to shoot two other employees.

“I guarantee you, you mark my words, you can play this in court,” Heinken allegedly said on the recording. He also sent a threatening text message to one of the two employees he said in the message he planned to shoot.

Heinken appeared in Washington County District Court on Dec. 28 and had another appearance scheduled for Jan. 9.

The terroristic threats charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
