A South Washington County School Board committee will interview at least five people representing three different cities for an open seat.
The board’s three-member Personnel Committee selected the following to be interviewed by the board: Rick Goecke and William Thurmes, of Cottage Grove; Jonathan Hunt and Daryl Parks, of Woodbury; and Newport resident Katy McElwee-Stevens, who previously served on the School Board.
A six applicant may be interviewed by the board, according to the district.
The board is appointing someone to replace Leslee Boyd, who stepped down this month because she is moving to Oklahoma. The appointed member will serve until the November 2013 School Board elections.
Board members, with the exception of Boyd, will conduct the interviews from 6:30-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4. The full School Board makes the final decision.
