The South Washington County Thunderbolts adapted soccer team improved to 3-1 overall on the year with a 9-1 win over Minneapolis Roosevelt last Monday at East Ridge High School.
Junior team co-captain Amanda Henderson led the way in the win with a team-high five goals.
Henderson’s third goal was a beauty. It came on a three-way, one-touch passing combination: John Stutelberg had a free kick, he passed to Tristan Rankin, who then one-touched the ball to center court where Henderson one-timed it into the back of the net.
The Thunderbolts emptied their bench in the win. Annalise Linder, Amber Hagen, Sam Baumann, Hayley Carriere and Brittany Dickson all saw varsity action in the game.
“Just a fantastic, all-around team win,” ‘Bolts head coach John Culbertson said.
The Thunderbolts are currently third in the CI South Division. Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville and Dakota United are tied for first at 5-0.
The ‘Bolts traveled to Burnsville on on Tuesday, after the Bulletin went to press, before heading to South Suburban on Wednesday.
