The Park girls soccer team advanced to the Section 3AA championship game with a 1-0 win over Eagan on Thursday.

Park junior Katelyn Floysand scored the game’s lone goal and sophomore goalie Emily Lange made three saves to help the second-seeded Wolfpack (11-3-3) edge third-seeded Eagan (8-8-2) in Cottage Grove.

The win sets up a section final against a familiar foe – Eastview.

The top-seeded Lightning – ranked fifth in the state – beat fourth-seeded Apple Valley 3-2 in overtime in the semifinals.

Eastview (12-3-1) has ended Park’s season in the playoffs three times in the last four years, including beating the Wolfpack in back-to-back section finals in 2008 and 2009. Both those section championships came down to shootouts.

Park and Eastview face off at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Park High School’s Wolfpack Stadium.
