For a second time this season, Apple Valley snuck by the Park boys soccer team.
Park brought Apple Valley, ranked fourth in the state and the No. 2 seed in the Section 3AA tournament, to a shootout in the opening round of playoffs, before the Eagles escaped with a win. Apple Valley beat the seventh-seeded Wolfpack 4-1 in the shootout, after the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in regulation and overtime in Apple Valley on Tuesday. Apple Valley (13-1-3) beat Park 1-0 earlier in the year. The Eagles were ranked No. 1 in the state at the time.
The loss ends the Wolfpack’s season. Park finished 5-11-1 overall on the year.
