The Park girls swimming and diving team fell 101-77 to Cretin-Derham Hall in a Suburban East Conference meet on Thursday, Oct. 4, at St. Catherine University in St. Paul.
The Raiders dominated the relay events, going 1-2-3 in each of them and mathematically won the event with three events remaining.
Park sophomore Sarah Schank earned the Wolfpack’s only first place finish of the meet, taking the top spot atop the podium in the diving competition with a score of 165 points.
In individual swimming events, sophomore Maddy McNearney placed high in two events. McNearney earned second place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.70 seconds and took third place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1 minute, 25.76 seconds. Park senior Sarah Schiemann also placed in multiple events. Schiemann finished in fourth place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:52.06 and earned fourth place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:09.23.
Park’s best event in the meet was the 500-yard freestyle where, the Wolfpack’s Alexandra Burd and Marit Christianson took second and third place, respectively, with times of 6:10.54 and 6:16.56.
Also, Peyton Adams took third place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:18.86, Makayla Erickson took fourth place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:18.01 and Sarah Forthun placed fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:19.42.
Next, Park hosts East Ridge at Cottage Grove Middle School on Thursday.
