This is it, drive-in fans.

The Cottage View Drive-In will play its final movies this weekend.

The drive-in will show films on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 12-13, to end its 46-year run. Mann Theatres will screen the youth-oriented “Hotel Transylvania” and “The Amazing Spiderman” both nights. The first film begins after dusk.

Last month a community farewell celebration was held at the drive-in, drawing hundreds of families for pre-movie entertainment and a screening of “Grease.”

The Cottage View is one of only two drive-in theaters remaining in the Twin Cities. And after this weekend, drive-in enthusiasts will have to get their film fix at the Vali-Hi in Lake Elmo.

Cottage View owner Gerry Herringer is selling the property to Walmart, which plans a Supercenter store for the site. City officials hope that will spur more commercial development in the area.

The Cottage View is located at 9338 East Point Douglas Road, east of Highway 61 and north of Innovation Road in Cottage Grove.
