The Park volleyball team improved to 5-9 overall on the year after going 3-2 at its own tournament over the weekend.
Park beat St. Paul Harding, Bethany Academy and St. Paul Central – all in straight sets, 2-0 – while falling to River Falls, Wis., 2-1 and St. Croix Lutheran 2-0 in its five matches over the two days at Park High School. Individual statistics from the matches were not made available.
The wins came on the heels of a 3-0 loss to conference foe Cretin-Derham Hall on Tuesday. The loss dropped the Wolfpack to 0-4 in the Suburban East Conference for the year.
Park currently has a 32-game losing streak in the Suburban East Conference and hasn’t won a conference game since beating Mounds View 3-0 toward the end of the 2008 season.
Park took on East Ridge on Tuesday, after the Bulletin went to press. Next, the Wolfpack plays host to St. Paul Central at Park, before traveling to Forest Lake for a conference match with the Rangers.
