Cottage Grove police reports for Oct. 3: Property damage, fight, theft, suspicious vehicle

Recent reports of criminal activity in Cottage Grove

Fight

Two Cottage Grove females, both age 14, were referred to the Youth Service Bureau for disorderly conduct on Sept. 13 after they were involved in a fight in the Park High School lunchroom.

Property damage

A Cottage Grove resident reported Sept. 13 that a window was damaged on a van parked in the 8400 block of Jody Lane.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Sept. 14 that a political campaign sign had been bent in the yard in the 8100 block of Hemingway Ave.

Police received a report Sept. 24 that someone had driven on a lawn area of the new Cottage Grove City Hall, 12800 Ravine Parkway, crushing a water pipe and causing water to flow in the area.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Sept. 25 that someone drove through a yard in the 9600 block of Hamlet Avenue and left tire track marks in the law.

A female driver reported Sept. 26 that someone threw a rock at her vehicle while she was driving through the area of 80th Street and Grange Boulevard.

Accident

Three people suffered minor injuries following a three-vehicle accident at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at East Point Douglas Road and Jamaica Avenue. None of the vehicle occupants was transported by ambulance.

Theft

A Cottage Grove resident reported Sept. 22 that someone stole a wallet and small amount of cash from a residence in Norris Square, 8200 Hadley Ave. The theft happened in early September.

Marathon gas station, 7033 Jorgensen Lane, reported a $22 gas drive-off Sept. 24.

A Cottage Grove man reported Sept. 24 that someone stole two bottles of hand soap and two plug-in air fresheners from his home in the 6700 block of Meadow Grass Lane.

Suspicious situation

Police were called to a home in the 8700 block of 67th Street Court shortly before 9 p.m. Sept. 18 after a man who had purchased a cassette tape player at a garage sale returned because he didn’t know how to use the electronic device.

Suspicious vehicle

A 19-year-old Cottage Grove man was cited for driving after suspension and no insurance after a police officer patrolling Ravine Parkway near the new Cottage Grove City Hall noticed a vehicle driving slowly and without headlights after 8 p.m. Sept. 23. It was not clear why the man was driving that way or why he was in that area.
