Cottage Grove police reports for Sept. 27: Drug arrest, disorderly conduct, trespassing, theft

Recent criminal activity reported in Cottage Grove.

Disorderly conduct

A Cottage Grove woman was arrested following a confrontation with police Sept. 8. Police were called to a home in the 8200 block of Hyde Lane for a report of an unwanted female. Subsequently, a 32-year-old Cottage Grove woman got into a confrontation with an officer while she was being apprehended for disorderly conduct. The woman also was arrested for obstruction.

Trespassing

A 19-year-old Oakdale man was cited for trespassing after he was found Sept. 6 at Park High School.

Theft

Holiday gas station, 8101 Hadley Ave., reported a $98 gas drive-off on Sept. 7.

A St. Paul man reported Sept. 9 that his wallet and his girlfriend’s wallet were stolen while they were at a party at a home in the 6400 block of Keats Avenue. The man also said an iPod was stolen from his truck parked at the party.

A 15-year-old Cottage Grove female was referred to the Youth Service Bureau for theft on Sept. 13 after she stole merchandise from Sally’s Beauty Supply, 8711 East Point Douglas Road.

Marathon gas station, 7033 Jorgensen Lane, reported a $37 gas drive-off on Sept. 16.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Sept. 16 that three bird feeders were stolen from a home in the 7200 block of Red Pine Road. Loss: $100.

Top Ten Wine, 8617 East Point Douglas Road, reported Sept. 15 that someone stole a bottle of vodka valued at $38. There was no suspect information.

Holiday gas station, 8101 Hadley Ave., reported a $12 gas drive-off Sept. 17. The gas station reported another gas drive-off on Sept. 18.

Attempted theft

A 16-year-old Cottage Grove male was cited for theft, tampering with a vehicle and property damage after he was found inside someone’s vehicle parked at Kingston Park. The vehicle owner told him to leave when she found in him the car Sept. 16. Police found him walking down the road and picked him up.

Drug arrest

Police arrested a Newport woman on multiple charges following a Sept. 16 traffic stop on Highway 61 at Bailey Road. Samantha Nygaard, 25, was arrested and booked into Washington County Jail on suspicion of fifth-degree controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle, driving after suspension and no proof of insurance.
