Park girls soccer: Wolfpack lose first game of 2012

After starting the season 8-0-1 Park lost its first game of the 2012 season, 1-0 to Stillwater, and is winless in its past two games.

After starting the season 8-0-1 Park lost its first game of the 2012 season, 1-0 to Stillwater, and is winless in its past two games.

Following the loss to the Ponies, Park drew a tie 1-1 with Roseville.

At 3-1-1 in the Suburban East Conference, Park is tied for second place in the conference standings with Stillwater and Roseville – and back of sixth-ranked White Bear Lake, which is 5-0 in SEC play. Woodbury, which has won the past 10 SEC championships is in fifth place with a 2-1-2 conference record.

For Park, junior midfielder Katelyn Floysand had the lone goal of the week, in the tie with Roseville, with an assist going to junior attacker Temi Ogunrinde. Sophomore keeper Emily Lange made two saves in the loss to Stillwater (6-3-2; 3-1-1 SEC) and three against Roseville (7-3-1; 3-1-1 SEC).

Ogunrinde leads the team in scoring with 10 points on eight goals and two assists. Floysand is third with four goals and two assists. In between is sophomore midfielder Carlie Williams with eight points on four goals and four assists.

Park played host to SEC-leading and sixth-ranked White Bear Lake on Tuesday, after the Bulletin went to print. Next, the Wolfpack welcomes Hastings to Park High School on Thursday.
