Cottage Grove police reports for Aug. 29: Drugs, fight, road rage
Recent reported criminal activity in Cottage Grove.
Fight
Police were called shortly after midnight July 29 to the 7700 block of Hinton Heights for a reported fight. People left the scene before police arrived.
Police were called at 1:15 a.m. July 29 to American Motorsports Bar and Grill, 7240 East Point Douglas Road, for a reported fight outside the bar. A 22-year-old Cottage Grove man was cited for obstructing the legal process.
Two men were cited following a fight around 8:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at a home in the 7700 block of Hinton Avenue. One man slapped another, according to a police report. A 37-year-old man and a 42-year-old man, both of Cottage Grove, were ticketed for disorderly conduct.
Drug arrest
A 29-year-old Lakeville man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance following a July 29 accident. Police were called to the parking lot of Target in the 8600 block of East Point Douglas Road shortly after midnight. A vehicle driven by Lucas A. Laue, of Lakeville, had struck a curb. Police allegedly found Laue in possession of a pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine. Further charges were pending the result of blood tests, police said. Laue was booked into the Washington County jail.
A South St. Paul man was cited Aug. 20 for fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine after he confessed to possessing drugs last month. Police on July 26 had arrested a woman for possessing a fifth-degree controlled substance. But the 28-year-old South St. Paul man said those drugs actually belonged to him, not the woman. It was not immediately clear what would happen with the pending charge against the woman.
Road rage
A 19-year-old Roberts, Wis., man was cited for disorderly conduct following an Aug. 1 road rage incident. The man allegedly was harassing and following another driver on southbound Highway 61 near Leeder Avenue. The victim called police. The two drivers pulled over and the suspect was confronting the victim when police arrived.
Suspicious man
Police were called to Highlands Park, 6975 Idsen Ave., on Aug. 1 for a report of a man filling water bottles at the splash pad. The suspect was rude to a passerby who questioned him, but had left before police arrived.
