Candidate forum set for south Washington County legislative races, Cottage Grove and Newport municipal contests

Voters will get an opportunity to hear from south Washington County-area legislative and municipal candidates at an upcoming forum.

The Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce has invited legislative candidates in Senate District 54 as well as candidates running for mayor or city council in Cottage Grove or Newport to participate in a question-and-answer session and breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Werner Electric Supply, 7450 95th Street, Cottage Grove.

The candidates will be given an opportunity to introduce themselves and respond to audience questions.

The event is free and open to the public. A continental breakfast will be provided.
