Cottage Grove police reports for Aug. 10

Recent reports include theft and suspicious behavior.

Suspicious behavior

A Cottage Grove woman in the 9900 block of 78th Street called police July 10 to report that overnight someone had trimmed the bushes in front of her home without her permission. She confirmed that neither city workers nor Xcel Energy had done it.

Theft

Holiday gas station, 6921 Pine Arbor Drive, reported July 13 an internal employee theft involving food items from the store. The case is under investigation.

Allside Inc., a construction company, reported July 13 that vinyl siding materials ($8,500) were stolen from a job site in the 7700 block of 60th Street.

A Cottage Grove resident reported July 13 that a Mac computer ($1,200) was stolen from a residence in the 9900 block of Hamlet Court. Case is under investigation.

A Cottage Grove man reported July 13 that a video game system and games were stolen from his residence in the 9000 block of Jasmine Avenue.

Kohl’s, 7990 Hardwood Ave., reported a theft July 23. A 19-year-old South St. Paul woman was cited for shoplifting, and a 16-year-old Wadena, Minn., girl was referred to the Youth Service Bureau for shoplifting.

Kohl’s, 7990 Hardwood Ave., reported a shoplifting incident July 15. A 14-year-old St. Paul Park girl stole $412 worth of merchandise and a 12-year-old Cottage Grove girl stole merchandise valued at $244. Both were referred to the Youth Service Bureau.

A Cottage Grove man reported July 15 that his vehicle was broken into and a purse, camera, iPod and wallet were stolen while it was parked at River Oaks Golf Course, 11099 West Point Douglas Road. Total loss: $250.

A Cottage Grove woman reported July 16 that a purse, wallet and other items were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 8700 block of Ironwood Ave. Total loss: $25.

A Cottage Grove woman reported July 16 that someone had fraudulently used her debit card, running a total of between $300 and $500.
