The East Ridge Legion Post 501 baseball team’s season came to an end last week in the District 3 playoffs.
East Ridge, the 19th seed in the District 3 tournament, fell 16-5 to 14th-seeded Prior Lake on Monday, July 23, in one of four single-elimination play-in games in order to earn a right to qualify for the 16-team, double-elimination tournament.
Top seed and No. 2-ranked Eastview won the District 3 championship for the third straight year to be one of three teams from District 3 to qualify for the 2012 state tournament. Also earning trips to state were second-seeded Burnsville and fourth-seeded Lakeville North.
East Ridge finished 15-22 overall on the year and 7-9 in League F play, which garnered sixth place out of nine teams.
