A man likely faces criminal charges for allegedly exposing himself to a Newport gas station clerk while he was buying coffee and doughnuts.
An employee of SuperAmerica, 1624 Hastings Ave., told police Thursday, July 12, that a man entered the store and got coffee and doughnuts about 9 a.m. that day. When he approached the counter to pay for his items, his pants zipper was open widely to expose himself, according to the police report.
Surveillance video obtained from the gas station confirmed the clerkâs story, the report said.
Newport Police Chief Curt Montgomery said there is an identified suspect and a criminal case is pending but the man has not been arrested. Montgomery would not release any information about the suspect due to the ongoing investigation.
