3 Cottage Grove deaths investigated; cases unrelated
Two of the deaths are believed to be by suicide, Cottage Grove police said, while the cause of a 27-year-old man’s death on Sunday is being investigated.
Cottage Grove police are investigating three deaths within the past two weeks.
Two of the deaths are believed to be suicide, police said, while the cause of a 27-year-old man’s death on Sunday is being investigated.
According to police, a 43-year-old Cottage Grove woman died June 8. That same day, an 80-year-old man attempted suicide.
Then, on June 11, a 63-year-old man died.
The deaths are not believed to be related, said Cottage Grove Police Sgt. Randy McAlister.
Police are conducting death investigations, “but we’re not looking for suspects,” he said.
Investigators were awaiting medical examiner’s records and toxicology reports on the 27-year-old man’s death, McAlister said.
All three of the deaths occurred in homes in Cottage Grove.
