St. Paul Park police responded to a reported car fire and ended up later arresting the driver on a warrant.
Police were called to the SuperAmerica gas station, 545 Summit Ave., on April 30 for a reported car fire.
The vehicle had overheated, not started on fire. The occupant, a St. Paul Park man, said he would get it towed. Police told him he could leave, but a squad computer was running slowly and it wasn’t until after the man had left that an officer learned there was a warrant out for the man’s arrest.
The man, identified as Jeremy E. Gronau, returned to the gas station later that evening. A clerk called police, who showed up and arrested Gronau for an outstanding warrant from Scott County. He was transported to Washington County Jail.
