Park girls lacrosse: Wolfpack beats Rochester in playoff opener

The fifth-seeded Park girls lacrosse team bounced back from a loss to Cretin-Derham Hall in its regular-season finale to beat 12th-seed Rochester Century 18-6 in the opening round of the Section 3 playoffs on Monday, May 21, at Park High School.
Individual statistics were not yet available when the Bulletin went to press.
The win improved Park’s record to 9-5 on the year.
Just prior to the postseason win, Park lost its regular-season finale 14-10 to Suburban East Conference foe Cretin-Derham Hall. Park senior Allie Thalhuber had a team-high four goals in the loss to the conference-leading Raiders (10-3; 8-1 SEC). Also, senior Karisa Land netted two goals and had an assist and Bailey Aasen, Erica Weidner and Maddie Nelson each scored one goal. Park senior goalie Allie Morse made 14 saves in the loss.
Park finished 5-4 in the SEC, good for fifth place.
Next, Park takes on fourth seed Rosemount on Wednesday, May 23, at Rosemount in the second round.
