Cottage Grove police officers and emergency medical personnel treat the driver of a vehicle involved in a two-car crash on 80th Street Monday morning. The accident blocked westbound traffic at Hinton Avenue shortly after 11 a.m.

Crews were clearing a busy Cottage Grove intersection late Monday morning after a two-vehicle accident blocked westbound 80th Street at Hinton Avenue shortly after 11 a.m.

A 39-year-old female was being transported to United Hospital in St. Paul with minor injuries after police say she failed to yield while turning left from eastbound 80th Street onto northbound Hinton Ave.

The crash and responding emergency vehicles slowed traffic in the eastbound lanes of 80th and blocked both westbound lanes, forcing vehicles north onto Hinton Avenue.

The intersection was expected to be clear by Noon, a responding officer on the scene said.
