Park girls golf: Keys shoots 38 to lead Wolfpack at Prestwick

Park sophomore Anna Keys shot a 2-over-par 38 to lead the Wolfpack girls golf team to an eighth-place finish out of 10 teams at the school’s most recent Suburban East Conference match, held last Thursday at Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury.

Park sophomore Anna Keys shot a 2-over-par 38 to lead the Wolfpack girls golf team to an eighth-place finish out of 10 teams at the school’s most recent Suburban East Conference match, held last Thursday at Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury.

Park took eighth place with a score of 194 , just behind Hastings and Cretin-Derham Hall who tied for sixth with 190s and ahead of Forest Lake, which shot 197. Stillwater won the tournament by 13 strokes over second-place Roseville with a 161. Individually, Cretin-Derham Hall’s Celia Kuenster won the tournament with a 34.

For the Wolfpack, in addition to Keys, eighth grader Lexi Hofstetter shot a 48, eighth grader Annika Hein carded a 51 and eighth grader Brooke Strenke shot a 57 to round out Park’s top four.

Prior to the conference match, Park competed in the 18-team, 18-hole Forest Lake Invitational at Forest Hills Country Club on Monday, taking 12th place with a 430 total score. East Ridge won the tournament with a 380, edging fellow SEC schools Mounds View (381), Roseville (385) and Forest Lake (387).

Keys led the way for Park with a 90 on the par-72 course, which was good for 10th place overall, carding a 46 on the front nine and a 44 on the back. Hein had a 106 to turn in the Wolfpack’s second-best round of the day, followed by Hofstetter (115) and Strenke (119). Kuenster won the invite with a 78.

Next, Park is at River Oaks Golf Course on Friday before heading to Duluth’s Northland Golf Course on Monday for an invitational.
