Walmart plan review pushed back in Cottage Grove
A Cottage Grove Planning Commission review of a plan to construct a Walmart on a portion of the Cottage View Drive-In theater property has been delayed until at least June.
City officials have delayed a Cottage Grove Planning Commission review of a plan to construct a Walmart on a portion of the Cottage View Drive-In theater property until at least June, the city has said.
Planning commissioners were scheduled to consider the Walmart site plan at a May 21 meeting. Instead, the company and its planning firm, MFRA, are awaiting the completion of a city planning staff report that will detail the proposed 177,000 square-foot Supercenter store’s impacts on neighboring properties, traffic patterns and stormwater runoff before requesting a formal review of the plan.
The city has tentatively rescheduled the hearing for the June 25 Planning Commission meeting. The company held a neighborhood meeting on the proposal May 1.
