Stone Soup Thrift Shop’s fourth annual Stone Soup’er Bowl is just $300 short of its $50,000 goal set for this year’s event which took place Saturday at Park Grove Bowl in St. Paul Park.
“We still have money coming in though,” said Majel Carroll, president of the board of Basic Needs Inc. of South Washington County, the shop’s parent company. “That money will help us continue our mission but doesn’t cover all our expenses.”
Carroll said bowling lanes were busy all day. “It was lots of fun and I had people tell me they planned to come for next year’s Soup’er Bowl.”
In return for donations, participants received free bowling, shoes, T-shirt and food and beverages.
