MSA track & field: Siekmeier sets school 1600-meter record

Math and Science Academy junior runner Jacob Siekmeier set a new school record as the Dragons competed at the Chisago Lakes Invitational last Wednesday. Siekmeier’s record time was 4 minutes, 41.17 seconds in the event. In addition, the MSA boys 3200-meter relay team of Brady Hannula, Noah Stout, Shawn Ramberg and Siekmeier finished in first place in the meet with a season-best time of 8:56.52. Individually, Hannula finished in second place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.32 and earned second place in the triple jump with a jump of 36 feet, 11 inches. On the girls side, Greta Siekmeier finished first in the 3200-meter run with a time of 12.38.60, just ahead of teammate Ellie Haland, who finished in second place with a time of 13:10.09. Also, the MSA girls 3200-meter relay team of Elise Lohmann, Julia Ing, Ines Siepmann and Greta Siekmeier finished in second place with a season-best time of 10:52.38.
This week, the team competes in the True Team Section Meet at Sibley East High School.
