Rep. Kriesel takes veterans services job in Anoka County
John Kriesel was appointed to lead Anoka County's Veterans Services Office.
Retiring state Rep. John Kriesel of Cottage Grove has a new job.
Kriesel on Tuesday was appointed to lead Anoka County's Veterans Services Office.
A National Guard veteran himself, Kriesel will help Anoka County veterans and their families obtain government benefits and other programs and services for veterans.
Kriesel had been working for a Minnesota National Guard contractor.
Kriesel, a Republican, announced earlier this year that he will not seek another term in the Minnesota House, where he's served for two years representing south Washington County.
Kriesel served 10 years in the National Guard. He was deployed to Kosovo and then Iraq, where in 2006 he lost both legs in a roadside bomb.
