Eugene Zilge, 69

Eugene "Zip" Zilge, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, age 69, of Cottage Grove, passed away on April 26 at home.

Preceded in death by parents, Wally and Ann; sister, Byrnell.

Survived by loving wife of 44 years, Shar; beloved children, Jason (Jodi), Renee (Scott) Dreyling, and four wonderful grandsons, Nicholas, Noah, Daniel, and Matthew; brothers, Mel (Natalie), Terry (Bonnie), Russ (Donna), Ray (Joanne); nieces and nephews.

Gene served in the U.S. Army after high school and then went to work for the Milwaukee R.R., now Canadian Pacific. He retired after 30 years in 1995. Gene was deeply loved by his family and friends. The special moments we shared with him will be in our hearts forever.

Memorial service 7 p.m. April 30 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S, Cottage Grove, with a visitation beginning at 4 p.m. until the start of the service. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
