Lorraine Snyder, 94

Lorraine (Dege) Snyder, age 94, of Cottage Grove.

She was born on March 30, 1918, in St. Paul, Minn. She served in the Marine Corps during WWII in Quantico, Va. There she met the love of her life, Bill Snyder. They were married on August 22, 1945, and spent over 49 years together.

On Tuesday, April 17, she passed away peacefully with family by her side.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Magdalene (Kartak) Dege; her husband, Bill; two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Pat (Terry) Horan; son, Mike (Pat); her grandchildren, Katie (Dave) Rumpca, Todd (Jane), Tim (Shantel), Scott (fiancée Michelle) Horan, Jeff Snyder; great-grandchildren, Riley and Ryan Rumpca and McKenna and Olivia Horan.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Regina Nursing home in Hastings, Minn., for taking good care of her for the past 5 years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Cottage Grove with visitation 1 hour prior to the service, all at the church. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials to Regina Foundation in Hastings or donor's choice.
