Cottage Grove police reports for April 19
Criminal activity included vandalism, theft, disorderly conduct and a burglary.
Vandalism
Police were called March 30 to Hearthside Park, 8245 Hearthside Ave., for a vandalism report. There was graffiti on the park pavilion. Damage: $250.
Theft
Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Ave., reported March 29 that four folding canopies were stolen from an unlocked garage. Loss: $400. Boy Scout items also were missing from the garage.
A Cottage Grove resident reported March 29 that a grill was stolen from the front patio of a home in the 7400 block of Jensen Ave. Loss: $250.
Shoplifting
Menards, 9000 East Point Douglas Road, reported a shoplifter March 30. A 42-year-old Cannon Falls man was cited for shoplifting after allegedly stealing a knife valued at $14.
Disorderly conduct
Two 13-year-old Cottage Grove girls were referred to the Youth Service Bureau and another 13-year-old Cottage Grove girl was issued a juvenile ticket for disorderly conduct following an altercation involving the three on March 29 outside a building in the 7900 block of Hearthside Avenue.
Burglary
Police were called March 29 to a home in the 11000 block of 70th Street for a reported burglary. Tools and household items totaling $5,500 were reported stolen. There was an estimated $400 damage to doors, light fixtures, a ceiling fan and a toilet in the home.
