Aggregate mining permit renewed
The Grey Cloud Island Town Board approved renewing the annual permit for Aggregate Industries at the April meeting to continue to operate its limestone mine.
Ditches cleared of tires, other junk
The first weekend in April was designated for the annual ditch cleanup in Grey Cloud Island Township. Volunteers, including town board members, picked up trash dumped in the township including 36 tires, Town Board Chair Dick Adams said at the April meeting.
The tires, which are potential bug breeding sites, will be picked up by Metropolitan Mosquito Control.
Potholes get fixes and sign replaced
All potholes on Grey Cloud Island Trail will be repaired by St. Paul Park Public Works, said Town Board Chair Dick Adams at the April meeting, even though half the road is in the city and half in the township. The road will also be striped by the city.
It’s a trade-off, Adams said, because the township does the snowplowing on the trail.
A no parking sign near “first fill” will be replaced. No parking is allowed on township right of way, Adams said.
