Washington County to offer weddings at county fair

The free ceremonies will be scheduled during two-hour periods every day of the fair’s Aug. 1-5 run.

The Washington County Fair will offer weddings and wedding vow renewals at this summer’s fair.

The free ceremonies will be scheduled during two-hour periods every day of the fair’s Aug. 1-5 run.

Tenth District Court Judge Greg Galler will perform the ceremonies, which will take place in front of a backdrop of the Washington County Master Gardeners’ Fairest Garden. The weddings and renewal of vows will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. No registration is required. However, organizers say a marriage license is required at least five days before the scheduled wedding.

General gate admission is required of everyone participating in or attending a ceremony. All fairgoers are invited and encouraged to observe or be part of the daily ceremonies.
