2012 Spring Sports Preview

Spring in Minnesota is typically a time of rejuvenation.

With the days growing longer, the temperatures rising, the snow melting and the sun shining – the high school spring sports season begins.

Pucks, basketballs and ski poles are packed away for another time. Golf clubs, lacrosse sticks and baseball and softball gloves are brought back out.

Baseball, softball, track, tennis, lacrosse and golf — these are the fresh air sports many have been waiting for since a year ago and, for some, the last chance for prep glory prior to graduation.

The 2011-12 spring high school sports season begins in earnest this week. Over the course of the week, we'll take a look at the area teams hoping to make a difference in our Spring Sports Preview.
