People got an unusual sight Sunday morning near River Oaks Golf Course: a pair of talon-tangled eagles in mid-air – and then on the ground.
People got an unusual sight Sunday morning near River Oaks Golf Course: a pair of talon-tangled eagles in mid-air – and then on the ground.
Two bald eagles apparently locked talons in flight and then fell to the ground. Golf course staff thought the birds might have been injured so they called police shortly before 8 a.m.
Police Capt. Pete Koerner said officers separated the birds’ talons and then the eagles flew off.
Koerner said eagles have a mating ritual in which they lock talons and fall from the sky.
