Park boys basketball: Wolfpack falls to Eastview, season ends

The Park boys basketball team’s season came to an end with a 75-26 loss to No. 3-ranked Eastview in the opening round of the Section 3AAAA tournament on Wednesday, March 7, at Eastview High School in Apple Valley.

The Park boys basketball team’s season came to an end with a 75-26 loss to No. 3-ranked Eastview in the opening round of the Section 3AAAA tournament on Wednesday, March 7, at Eastview High School in Apple Valley.

Eastview took a 52-11 lead at the half in the game, before eighth-seeded Park kept it close in the second half, playing the top-seeded Lightning (26-1) to a 23-15 second half.

Park senior guard Robert Briggs led the Wolfpack with nine points, while sophomore guard Ryan Klika chipped in six points.

Joey King, who leads the Lightning at 24 points per game, led the way in the win with a game-high 28 points.

It was the second-straight season Eastview ended Park’s season. The Wolfpack finished the year 2-25 overall.

Park must now say good-bye to four seniors – Briggs, and forwards Austen Kruzeski, Anthony Tola and Tim Vorwerk.

On the year, Vorwerk led the Wolfpack in scoring with 192 points in 23 games played for an 8.3 points per game average. Junior forward Justin Myers also averaged 8.3 points per game. Briggs was third at 7.5 points per game. Sophomore guard Sully Brenke was fourth in scoring at 6.9 points per game.
