Park boys swimming and diving: Dorsch makes splash at state meet

Park senior Travis Dorsch’s high school swim career came to an end on the state’s biggest stage.

Park senior Travis Dorsch’s high school swim career came to an end on the state’s biggest stage.

Dorsch, who last week became the first male Wolfpack swimmer to qualify for the state meet since 2004, took 17th place in the preliminary round of the 100-yard breaststroke at the 2011-12 boys swimming and diving state meet, held March 2, at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis. Dorsch had a time of 1:04.26. Rosemount junior Jacob Stern won the event with a time of 58.50. Dorsch holds the Park school record in the event with a 1:04.05 time.
