East Ridge boys swimming & diving: Raptors improve to 8-1 in SEC with win over Hastings

The East Ridge boys swim and diving team added yet another win to their record in the 2011-12 season after a victory over Suburban East Conference foe the Hastings Raiders on Thursday, Feb. 9.

The 94.5-86.5 win awarded the Raptors a second-place finish in the Suburban East Conference and nearly perfect current conference standing at 8-1.

East Ridge team members Ryan Schiferl, Pierce Firebaugh, David Scholz and Tyler Langstraat exhibited outstanding performances in Thursday’s meet against the Hastings Raiders, helping to lead the team to victory.

Raptors head coach Steve Webb stated that the team’s focus is currently on the upcoming section and state meets, which start on Thursday, Feb. 23. Webb added that the Raptors are looking to challenge current reigning conference champions the Stillwater Ponies for the section title in the upcoming meets.
