Elizabeth Koprucki's effort to complete her domination of Minnesota high school alpine racing fell just short when she finished second at Wednesday's state meet.

The East Ridge junior finished 1.12 seconds behind the champion, Megan Danelski of Hermantown, according to unofficial results.

The East Ridge girls squad competed in the team portion of the meet. Team results were not immediately available.

Eighth-grader Jack Midtlien, who races for East Ridge, finished 30th in the boys competition at state.

Wednesdays's meet was the only Minnesota State High School League-sanctioned race Koprucki competed in this year that she did not win. Koprucki won all four of the Suburban East Conference races in which she competed, in addition to the Section 4A meet held last week at Wild Mountain Ski Area.
