The East Ridge High School varsity and junior varsity competition cheer teams brought home state championship trophies for their respective divisions at the Minnesota Cheerleading Coaches Association (MCCA) state Cheerleading competition, held Jan. 28, at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in downtown St. Paul.

Last year, the East Ridge varsity team won the state championship at the Division II Medium Varsity level title at the MCCA state meet at Roy Wilkins. East Ridge won their first championship in 2009. The JV team also won the state championship last year.
