Park High School's interim principal soon will be its permanent principal.
The District 833 School Board on Thursday approved a contract allowing Dr. Craig Paul to continue in the position he's held since last July.
Paul, who was recently honored for “distinguished service” by the Minnesota Association of Secondary Principals, succeeded Dr. Efe Agbamu, who was named principal of the year by the association during her tenure at Park.
Superintendent Mark Porter said Paul has added continuity to the school and continued Agbamu's work that brought the International Baccalaureate program to Park.
In a twist, Agbamu's successor as secondary principal of the year is Dr. John Bezek of Tartan High School, who once was an assistant principal at Park.
Paul started at Park after Agbamu resigned to take an administrative position with St. Paul Schools.
Prior to coming to Park, Paul served as Wayzata High School principal and spent two years overseas as principal of an American school.
