The Raptors returned to form Saturday at the Minnehaha Academy Knighthawk Wrestling Classic after stumbling the day before against White Bear Lake.
East Ridge finished third at the Minnehaha tournament behind first-place team Kenyon-Wanamingo and Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center, which finished second.
The Raptors cleared 11 place winners in the tournament, led by sophomore Reid Lyden (103 pounds) and JC Hassenauer (285) who both earned championships.
Jake Trevis took second place at the 113 weight, while John Catterton and Jake Pittman earned third-place finishes for the Raptors.
Ryan Thompson, Emilio Huerta, Mitchell Hobot, John Balagot, Nate Tigges and Kyle Siemers also placed for East Ridge.
The Minnehaha tournament’s results were a far cry from Friday’s White Bear Lake match, where the Raptors lost 65-8. Lyden and Chatterton were the Raptors’ lone bright spots in the match.
The Raptors on Thursday face Minneapolis Edison and Minneapolis Washburn before taking on South St. Paul on Friday.
