New Life girls basketball: Eagles get two wins at home

The Eagles girls basketball team soared through victories last week, easily beating Trinity at River Ridge and Heritage Christian.

The Eagles girls basketball team soared through victories last week, easily beating Trinity at River Ridge and Heritage Christian.

New Life topped Trinity 60-40 at home on Tuesday, Jan. 17. The Eagles led 29-19 at the half and outscored Trinity 31-21 in the second half for the 20-point victory. They were led by Valerie Hohol’s 15 points. Emily Bolduan added 13 points while Natalie Hager chipped in an additional 12 points on 6-for-8 shooting.

The Eagles had an even wider margin of victory against Heritage Christian on Thursday, Jan. 19. They jumped out to a 26-11 halftime lead and coasted to a 55-24 victory.

Bolduan was New Life’s top scorer with 15 points. Hager contributed 13 points and Matty Steele added 10 points. Taylor Paulson pulled down 13 rebounds for New Life.

The Eagles (5-9; 2-2 MCAA) are on the road this week. They faced conference-leading Maranatha Christian Academy on Tuesday, Jan. 24 after the Bulletin went to press. They take on PACT Charter School on Friday, Jan. 27.
