The ice cream shop recently shut its doors at 7750 Harkness Ave., behind the Kohls store.
A sign on the front door says the business is closed and encourages people to try other Cold Stone Creamery locations, including in Woodbury. The company could not be reached for comment.
Cold Stone Creamery is the second Cottage Grove eatery to close this year. Kentucky Fried Chicken shut down in the spring.
