Smoke smell, but no fire, at Oltman Middle School in St. Paul Park

Oltman Middle School students experienced an unplanned fire drill at mid-day on Thursday, Sept. 8.
School officials evacuated the school after a smoke smell in the gym area. Apparently a sensor on a fan failed, according to Barb Brown, District 833 communications director.
The students were out of the building about an hour, she said.
