A popular catering business has closed its doors in Woodbury.
Tinucci’s Eagle Lake Lane location is no longer open but is still operating at its original location in Newport.
Owner Greg Tinucci said one of the three partners — his brother John Tinucci — decided to retire, which was the reason behind the closure.
“We can’t run two restaurants with two people,” he added, referring to himself and his other brother Mark Tinucci.
The family-owned business served Woodbury for more than eight years. Tinucci said closing it wasn’t due to economic hardships.
“Obviously it was pretty good if we were there eight and a half years,” he said.
He does not plan to reopen the restaurant in the future.
“We just appreciate all our customers in Woodbury,” Tinucci said. “If they like our food, they can certainly come down to Newport.”
Tinucci’s, which has been in business for 52 years, gained some unexpected attention last year, after former Minnesota Vikings receiver Randy Moss singled out its food during a rant. The Newport location — which includes a restaurant — got the last laugh, however, after cashing in on a lunch special that lampooned Moss.
